Since 2011, the Swearingens have participated with Shire Sharing in a variety of ways: praying, donating, packing and delivering meals, administration.
What initially drew us to serve with Shire Sharing? We knew from the start that this organization was unique, with a very special sparkle. 2 Corinthians 9:7 tells us, "Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver." For us, Shire Sharing was God's Word come to life.
Shire Sharing is a way to love others tangibly. That's important; giving food and sharing holiday cheer with those who might otherwise go without on Thanksgiving can have a tremendous impact on their health and well-being.
Shire Sharing is a way for communities to band together, rallying for and around our neighbors. People from all over the state give their time to help with countless tasks; from hand-written cards for each meal bag to sweeping up the floor when all is said and done. Why? Because giving is a joy. Helping others is a privilege. And doing so with Shire Sharing is fun!
Shire Sharing is a successful private (all volunteer-operated and fully donor funded) charity. That's inspiring. That is 2 Corinthians 9:7. Non-coerced/unforced giving is not only possible, it's happening right here in the beautiful state if NH because of incredibly generous donors from all over the world!
All of this is thrilling to the Swearingens and we count it a great honor to be part of Shire Sharing.
What can you do to help? We would encourage you to click around this website and learn the rich history of Shire Sharing and the Bouldin family. Then donate or volunteer (or both :-) ). Help us spread cheer this Thanksgiving to hundreds of families across NH. You'll be giving and getting a blessing!
